Emily Thompson
Instructor
Ms. Emily Thompson began her dance journey at the age of 3 and hasn’t stopped loving the art form since! Growing up at the Old Opera House Center for the Arts and dancing for her high school dance ensemble led her to participate in the Regional and National High School Dance Festivals, where she received several scholarships to colleges along the east coast including Point Park University, Hartt School of Music at Hartford University, University of North Carolina, and Brenau University to continue her studies in dance.
After high school, Ms. Emily attended Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts where she studied Dance Performance with a concentration in ballet. Throughout the year she spent with Point Park, she was able to learn from many great instructors and artists in the industry including Martha Nichols, Jessica Lang and Disney Representatives.
Ms. Emily found her way to the DAL family by chasing her dreams to inspire young dancers to share her love for dance! She is currently studying at Shepherd University, aiming to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure Studies, with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation. After graduation, she plans to receive her CTRS and Dance Therapy Certifications. She plans to continue using her knowledge of Recreation Therapy and dance background to help her students learn life skills they will carry with them as they grow!
