Elizabeth Boehnlein

 

Elizabeth Rotsch Boehnlein has a BFA with honors in modern and a minor in ballet from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.  While in New York City Elizabeth danced with the Kennedy Dancers, Klixbull Dance Company, and the Performing Arts Ensemble.  She has also performed with Philadanco, the Georgetown Ballet, the Dance Vista television series and various performances with the University of the Arts and Point Park College in Pittsburgh.  She has trained with Milton Meyers, Evee Lynn, Judith Jamison, and many others.  Elizabeth has taught ballet, jazz, lyrical, and acrobatics for over 15 years. Various schools include the Shely Pack Performing Arts Center,  and the Garden State Ballet,.

Michelle Giordano

 Michelle has been teaching and performing dance professionally for 14 years.  You may have seen her in productions of "Oklahoma", "Crazy for You", 7 Brides...", "Grease", "Joseph and the Amazing...", or "West Side Story." She has choreographed for various high school drill teams and color guards, was a featured dancer on the Talent Hunter Show for two seasons, a member of the Stage Crew Dance Ensemble and dance captain/performer on the Spirit of Washington.  Michelle Mills (Giordano) was nominated for the 2004 Helen Hayes award for outstanding choreography for her work on "Crazy for You."  This is her 5th year at the academy and teaches most of our tap classes.

Hugh Lee

Hugh Lee has trained with Gus Giordano in Chicago and the Ruth Page School of Ballet, Lou Conte, Joseph Holmes, Luigi, Broadway Dance Center, and Annapolis Gymnastics.  His extensive performance experience includes the Pan-Am games, Sea World of Texas, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Mr. Dance of America-winner 1984, and the Nutcracker with Metropolitan Ballet Theatre and Alexandria Ballet.  He has taught at the Institute for the Arts, The Dance Spot, Rhythm and Cheer, and Showcase Dance Academy among many others.  We are very pleased to have Mr. Lee as an addition to our staff.   This will be his third year at the academy.
 

 

Anneliese Gadell

 Anneliese Gadell holds degree in Health and Fitness management from Marymount University. Originally from New Jersey, she began teaching and choreographing for recitals and competitions at the age 16. Anneliese has taught all forms of dance to students’ ages 18 months through adult and has coached modeling for runway completions. Anneliese is a certified Zumba instructor and has extensive training in teaching various fitness and conditioning classes. This is her third year at the academy teaching some of the tiny tots, princess ballet, dancing dudes and divas, and combo classes.

Claire Dean Bloom

Claire has been teaching for the Dance Academy for four years.  She trained here at the academy and we are pleased to have her on the staff.  Claire has performed and still performs lead roles in our annual Nutcracker.  She teaches perballet combos, ballet, jazz, tap, and tumbling and choreographs many top groups and solos for our competition groups. 

Geralyn Ward

Geralyn Ward is from the Washington, DC area. Her dance students have gone on to perform professionally, teach, and judge dance competitions. Geralyn has been teaching for over twenty years and has won numerous choreography and high score awards at many regional and national competitions. She teaches at 2 studios in the northern Virginia area, runs her own company, and is a judge for regional dance competitions. She has performed with University of Georgia, George Mason University, and in Europe. Most recently she choreographed for the “International Children’s Festival at Wolf Trap.” Her love of children and passion for dance is what has kept her in this profession for over twenty years. She is very excited to be back at the Dance Academy of Loudoun.
